Lenoir City Police officer replaces flag blown loose in wind

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A Lenoir City woman is thanking a police officer who came to her door and fixed her American flag, which had blown loose in the wind.

Karen Hawkins Bass posted a picture to Facebook showing the officer as he worked to fix the flag pole. Bass says he knocked on her door after noticing the flag. He borrowed a few tools from her to tighten it back down into the proper position.

"He probably spent a good 10 minutes fixing the flag and said he just couldn't bare to see it on the ground. I gave him a million "thank you's" before he left," Bass said in a Facebook message. "That simple act literally restored my faith in many things. He didn't have to do that, but I appreciate it so very much!"
