Lenoir City man jailed for assaulting woman

A Lenoir City man was taken into custody stemming from a domestic dispute involving strangulation last week in the 200 block of Hartsook Drive.

While a woman was inside an apartment at the residence, William Matthew Allison, 33, Lenoir City, came in "unannounced and without (the woman's) consent," according to the arrest report.

After she told Allison to leave, he took the woman's keys and threatened to take her vehicle, according to police.

The woman "stood in front of Allison to prevent him from taking her keys and he began punching her with his fists in the sides of her face and head," Lenoir City Police Det. Kevin Condee wrote in the report. "Allison then put his hand on (the woman's) throat and began choking her. (The woman) was eventually able to break free from Allison but she suffered a contusion to the right side of her face near the temple area."

The woman had red marks on her neck and was treated for injuries at Fort Loudoun Medical Center, according to the report.

Allison fled on foot "after intervention from a neighbor" before being apprehended, Condee wrote.

Allison was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault and held on $20,000 bond.
