Lenoir City man charged with ass

A Lenoir City man was arrested Thursday after a woman was assaulted and threatened.

According to report from Loudon County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Parks, a woman flagged down a Lenoir City Police officer to report an assault suffered the previous night.

Parks talked with the woman, who said she and Elijah Don Morgan, 44, had gotten into an argument when he grabbed her by the neck and began choking her. The woman said she was unable to escape his grasp and lost consciousness. When she awoke, she vomited and dry-heaved before attempting to run out of the room.

As she attempted to escape, Morgan grabbed the woman from behind, put her in a choke hold and began strangling her again. According to the report, Morgan told the woman she “was not leaving, that he would kill (her) and then himself.” Marks consistent with such as assault were observed on the woman’s neck.

The woman told deputies she was in fear for her life and believed Morgan was going to go too far and kill her because he told her he would “show her” when they got home that day.

The woman filled out a statement and was removed to a place of safety for the night as deputies found Morgan, who was arrested without incident.

Morgan was charged with aggravated assault and released on $15,000 bond.
