Lenoir City man arrested for raping 9-year-old girl

width:270 and height: 203 and picwidth: 212 and pciheight: 159LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Lenoir City man was arrested on Monday following a nearly four month investigation into charges he raped a child under twelve, the Loudon Co. Sheriff's Office announced on Friday.

On August 8, a Grand Jury indicted Donald Hornby, 53, on one count of Rape of Child, based on the information gathered by investigators, which included statements from the Hornby.

He is being held on $25,000 bond, and would face mandatory prison time if convicted, Sheriff Tim Guider added.

The Loudon Co. Sheriff's said its Criminal Investigation Department along with the Department of Children's Services began their investigation into the incident back in late April.


Lenoir City man accused of child rape

LENOIR CITY — A Lenoir City man was arrested this week on a child rape charge, according to information released today from the Loudon County Sheriff's Department.

Donald Hornby, 53, of 12548 Unitia Road, was indicted by a Loudon County grand jury April 8 on the charge involving a child under 12 years old following a investigation that began April 26 by the Sheriff's Department and the state Department of Children's Services, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

Hornby was arrested Monday in Knoxville without incident and was transported to the Loudon County Jail.

A Loudon County jail spokesman said Hornby posted a $25,000 bond Wednesday.
