Lenoir City holding homemade ice cream contest

“Cool Down in Downtown” is Thursday, August 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. There is no cost to attend. Local businesses, church groups, schools civic groups or anyone in the general public are invited to enter a team in the contest. Teams must provide their own ice cream, tables and chairs, tent if desired, and decorations or props to set up their booth.

The Parks and Rec department will provide serving spoons, sample cups, napkins and voting ballots, The winning team as chosen by the public will receive the “silver scoop” award and the congratulations of everyone at the event.
