Lenoir City High School has hired Tim Smith as its girls basketball coach. Smith, who retired from Stone Memorial in 2012, was hired on Monday, giving the Lady Panthers a coach with state tournament experience on his resume. Lenoir City athletic director Greg Boling announced the hire on Twitter. Smith replaces Rebecca Muncy, who resigned in February after guiding the Lady Panthers to a 10-19 record in her lone season as coach. "LCHS is excited to announce the hiring of Tim Smith the new girls head basketball coach," Boling wrote on Monday. Smith last coached girls basketball in 2012, when he guided Stone Memorial to the Class AA state semifinals. He retired following that season, citing undisclosed health issues. |
