Lenoir City Beer Board Hearing

Daily Edition Public Notice

As you can see from the notice above, the Lenoir City Beer Board will consider another beer permit. If approved, which it will be, that will bring the total to 43 beer permits inside the city, 25 off premise, convenience/package stores, and 18 on premise, restaurants and server locations. One reason for so many permits is, like their development regulations, there are almost no restrictions on where beer outlets can locate in the city. The county has the 2,000' rule from schools, churches, daycares and other places of public gathering and the 300' foot rule from residents. The city has no distance requirements.

Just last month, Lenoir City police officer, Chris Law, was awarded a citation from the Tennessee Highway Safety Department for making 67 DUI arrests in one year, October 1, 2022-September 30, 2023. Great job. That's just one officer in one year. During the award presentation, Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens said he just can't understand how there could still be so many people who drink and drive.

Yeah, it's a real mystery.
