LENOIR CITY (WATE) - Lenoir city's housing director has been fired after concerns raised in an audit.

6 News told you about the audit last month.

The reported highlighted excessive spending including more than $70,000 in construction upgrades, that included $3,400 to install a new door in the office of executive Debbie Cook.    

The Housing Board Chairman told 6 News the audit was the final straw with Cook. The board will work soon on finding a replacement.
