Legal Fees Sky High
| 2007 has proven to be a costly year for Loudon County
tax payers when it comes to legal fees. Loudon County's legal costs have
reached an all time high topping $183,000.00. The bulk of those costs,
$100,000.00, went to the law firm of Kramer Rayson who have now become
Arp's unofficial county attorneys. Several of Kramer Rayson's
attorneys were contributors to Arp's mayoral campaign. Estimates range
from $30,000.00 to $50,000.00 for Arp's failed attempt to keep public
records secret.
Legal fees combined with the remodeling of the County Office Building, total nearly a half million dollars. With calls for higher sales taxes, higher property taxes and wheel taxes, it might be time to look at saving some money rather than spending money. |
