LCPD Moving Out
Lenoir City council voted Monday night to sign a three year lease for ten thousand square feet of office space in the former Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. The cost will be two dollars per square foot. The much needed space will be for the Lenoir City Police Department. LCPD, currently located at city hall, has for some time been out of space for any expansions and has been cited for ADA compliance issues. With plans for a new city hall years away from completion, the police department was in desperate need of more space now. The new offices will have ample office space with space for a conference room and a training area. Visitors will also have more available parking. The absence of the police at city hall will also free up more space and parking at city hall. The department hopes to be moved into their new facility within about six weeks. |
