LC/LCUB Expanding

Looks like Lenoir City and LCUB are expanding their footprints in the Creekwood development.

On December 8th, LCUB closed the deal to buy lot 2 in the development, beside the Palace. According to deed records, LCUB paid $600,000.00 for the 13.3 acre lot. That puts the cost at just over $45,000.00 per acre.

On December 9th, Lenoir City bought lot 4 in the development. This lot adjoins the Venue. Deed records did not report how much the city paid for their lot or if LCUB may have paid for both.

It's unknown what the plans for either lot are. Both lots were purchased from Capitol Bank Cooperation.

Remember back when the tax payers paid for the road through the development, how everyone was told, this development would be the next Turkey Creek? That it would generate millions, annually, in sales taxes for the city? So far, nothing in the development generates hardly any sales tax and all the property owned by LCUB and the city are tax exempt, meaning they don't even pay any property tax.
