LC Election Deadline Thursday

This Thursday, August 21st, twelve noon is the deadline for anyone planning to run for any office in the Lenoir City election in November. This includes city council, mayor, city treasurer/recorder or city school board. So far the number of people who have qualified to seek office is high. Six candidates have qualified for the three council seats, four for the mayor's seat, three for the three school board seats and only one for the treasurer/recorder position. A number of others have picked up petitions but as of yet have not returned them with the 25 required signatures to qualify. The ballot will be set this Thursday.
