Lawsuit Update
| I've had several requests for an update on the Leslie
Johnson vs Lenoir City lawsuit. Ms.
Johnson, you may recall, is the former Lenoir City Codes Officer who was
dismissed last January. Ms Johnson sued the city for wrongful
termination. The federal lawsuit has been making it's way through the
court system. The wheels of justice do turn but they turn slowly. Ms. Johnson filed her suit last June and according to court documents, her case is set to go to a jury trial February 19th, 2015. and a jury beginning on February 9, 2015. The trial is expected to last 5 days. Counsel shall be present at 9:00 a.m. to take up any preliminary matters which may require the Court's attention. The parties shall be prepared to commence trial at 9:00 a.m. on the date which has been assigned. (From Court Scheduling Order) My crystal ball predicts...............................settelment before trial. |
