Lawsuit Date Set
| The date for the lawsuit filed by the city of
Greenback against the Greenback Fire Department and former mayor, Tom
Peeler, has been set. The case will be heard in Loudon County Circuit
Court on July 1st, at 11:00 am. The suit claims the former mayor signed documents giving two parcels of city property to the fire department even though the mayor had already left office and also in violation of city ordinances. The suit asks that the quick claims be rendered null and void and that the former mayor be held responsible for the city's legal fees. |
