Laundry dispute results in drug bust

A Lenoir City man was arrested for drug possession April 25 after law enforcement responded to his home following an argument about using a washer and dryer.

Lenoir City Police Officer Christopher Law was dispatched to the residence of Billy Joe Brauckmuller, 42, in reference to him verbally threatening another man.

When Law arrived, he noticed Brauckmuller had a thick tongue and pinpoint pupils. He also observed a pill container in plain view on a bedside cabinet with half of a hydrocodone 500mg pill inside, a half-cut straw with orange residue and a prescription bottle addressed to a different individual that contained three pills.

Law spoke to a man who said Brauckmuller threatened to stab him and destroy all his belongings because Brauckmuller had been told he couldn’t use the washer and dryer. A witness corroborated the story, adding that Brauckmuller became angry because he was not allowed to use the washer.

Law returned to speak with Brauckmuller after talking to the other man and witness, and the pill bottles and straw had been removed. After placing Brauckmuller under arrest, he confessed to concealing the items under the cabinet.

Brauckmuller was charged with possession of legend drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession/casual exchange and tampering/fabricating with evidence and released on $10,000 bond.
