Last, Last Pitch

For the last eight years, I have had the honor to represent the good citizens of the fifth district. I have known many of you for most of my life and have met many new residents as our district has grown. I have had the opportunity to help a number of you with personal and community issues. Working together, we have prevented some bad things from happening in your communities and have also helped make some good things happen.

I have also been fortunate to work with a majority of a county commission who has accomplished great things for Loudon County. With conservative management, we have been able to bring Loudon County to a place we've never been. Our financial position has never been stronger or our taxes ever been lower.

We have been able to continue to fund all the necessary county services including law enforcement and education at levels higher than ever before. We were able to add a new 17.5 million dollar jail addition to improve officer safety and double inmate capacity.

All the accomplishments were achieved with no property tax increases or any other tax increases. Conservative, fiscal management pays off for all of us.

I hope my record speaks for it's self and if re-elected, I will continue to hold fast to the same conservative values I've always had.

With early voting over, there's nothing left but election day Tuesday. This will be your last opportunity to make your voice heard.

I think it's very fair to compare my record with my opponent, Lenoir City councilman, Eddie Simpson. After all, our voting record speaks volumes about our priorities as elected officials.

There's probably never been two candidates, in a local election, who's voting records are more opposite. This election could decide the fate of Loudon County forever, either good or bad. Please compare our voting records and make your decision based on which of us better represents your views and values.

  • Mr. Simpson has voted for four property tax increases on all city property owners, most recently, July 2021.
  • I have never voted for any property tax increases.
  • Mr. Simpson voted to implement the Rain Tax on all city residents, businesses, schools, churches and non-profits.
  • I have never voted for any tax increases.
  • Mr. Simpson voted for a sales tax increase.
  • I actively opposed the sales tax increase and it was ultimately defeated by the voters, overwhelmingly.
  • Mr. Simpson sponsored a resolution for and voted for the gas tax increase.
  • I sponsored a resolution to oppose the gas tax increase.
  • Mr. Simpson voted for gun control, banning legal permit holders from carrying their weapons in all city buildings.
  • I passed a resolution to remove the gun ban from all county buildings.
  • Mr. Simpson has voted to permit every mass, residential development that wanted to locate in the city with no consideration on how that will impact the city and county school systems and infrastructures.
  • I have voted to deny mass developments on a number of occasions to prevent over development and preserve communities.
  • Mr. Simpson has voted for millions in property tax breaks for residential developers while voting for major tax increases on
    city residents.
  • I have never voted for any tax breaks for any developers of any kind.
  • If elected to county commission, Mr. Simpson intends to continue to serve as a Lenoir City councilman.
  • I have no intention to do anything other than represent the residents of the fifth district.
  • Mr. Simpson's campaign is being funded with tens of thousands of dollars from developers and special interests from Knoxville
  • My campaign is self funded

I again ask you for your vote if you live in the 5th district. If not a 5th district resident, I ask that you share the information on our voting records and encourage anyone you know in the 5th, to consider voting for me. Loudon County has come so far and done so great to go backwards now.

Thanks -
