Land For Sale

Want to buy some land? You may get the chance. At the last Loudon County School Board meeting the board voted to sell the now infamous 321 land the board bought 2006. The land has been a point of controversy for years after it was revealed that the board paid a total of 2.2 mil., for the eighty acres to the developer who held an option on the one hundred three acre tract.

The previous school board, for lack of a better word, got duped bad back in 2006 when they paid 2.2 million dollars for the property. The land has set vacant for all these years. It has been on the market for sale other times in the past but never brought anywhere near the money the board paid for it.

There is the possibility this time there may be a buyer. Supposedly, someone has made an offer for 1.4 million for the property. Government agencies can't just sell property. There's a process. The property will be put out to bid with the beginning bid being the 1.4 million.

Sure, at 1.4 million, the board still takes a big loss on the property but this may be the best they could ever hope to get.

There's a lot of stories behind this purchase of this property. Below are a few links to stories I did back in 2006-2007 if you have any interest in reading them.
