Just Ask

The political machines are in full swing. Seems not a day goes by that I don't hear a new story about something I allegedly said or did or are planning to do and I truly do appreciate those of you who keep me informed about all the gossip being circulated out there. For the record, I don't hate children, kittens and puppies. I don't want to fire every county employee, I'm not trying to remove every computer from every school room and I'm not the leader any secret societies and so on and so forth.

I'm just a very average person who has been fortunate enough to represent my district in a political capacity for several years now. I am fiercely conservative and independent, just like most of you, who refuse to take marching orders from anyone. Because of this and my years in public service I have made some powerful enemies. Folks that would blame me for disrupting their little parties at tax payer's expense.

As you read this, there are some of the biggest political players in Loudon County working in overdrive hoping to defeat me in my campaign simply because they know they can not dictate my actions. They would say or do just about anything to hinder my campaign.

I have a long and public voting record and I have never been shy to express my position on most any issue and what I have found is that's the way most of the people in Loudon County are. That put's me in pretty good company.

I ask one favor. If you have any questions for me, or for that matter any candidate, ask the questions. Put our feet to the fire. If we're going to ask for your trust and support and to allow us to represent you in local government, we better be ready to answer the hard questions. If we can't or wont, then maybe we're not the person for the job.

It's a political season and it can sometimes get mean. But if you hear some wild accusations about a candidate, give them a call or shoot them an email and see what they have to say about the matter. An informed voter is a wise voter.
