Judge's Race Is On

Less than twenty-four hours after commission accepted judge William Russell's retirement notice, two candidates have already picked up qualifying petitions for the seat.

Loudon attorney, A. Wayne Henry picked up a petition to run in the republican primary while, Lee Ledbetter has picked up to run as an independent. Ms. Ledbetter is an assistant district attorney for District Attorney, Russell Johnson.

The timing of judge Russell's retirement leaves candidates considering a run for the office just 15 days to qualify before the deadline.
