Judge Rules For Loudon County

Tuesday 2/21, was the long awaited hearing on the Cook Brothers vs Loudon County. As you remember, Cook sued Loudon County when he was denied a rezone request for a 172 home, residential development in the Unitia community.

Chancellor Tom McFarland, ruled that the county commission was within their legislative authority to deny the rezone request and dismissed the case in favor of the county. County attorney Bob Bowman, did an excellent job presenting the county's positions.

County commission was pleased with the outcome of the hearing. Of course the real winners were the people. In denying the rezone request back in 2021, commissioners listened to their constituents and voted accordingly.
