Interstate crash kills one woman, critically injures two

Patrol report confirmed the driver
veered off the road, hit an
embankment and overturned on I-40 E.
between Watt Road and Campbell
Station Road. The impact of the
crash threw all three people from
the SUV, killing the driver, Claudia
Vazquez, 33, of Loudon, and
critically injuring two passengers.
As of Saturday morning, Ofelia Guichapa, 56, of Loudon and Maria Estrada, 40, of Loudon were in critical condition at UT Medical Center. THP said both women were not wearing seatbelts. It's unknown if the driver was wearing one. The crash backed up traffic for miles and shut down the interstate for more than an hour. |
