Injured Dog Update
A McMinn County man accused of dragging a dog behind his truck, is now charged with animal cruelty. The operator of the Break the Chain Pit Bull Rescue Service in Lenoir City told Ten News earlier this month that Billy Jacobs adopted Boss in March. When they checked up on the dog a few weeks later, they discovered he'd been seriously injured, and had not been taken to the vet. The rescue says Jacobs told them he had tied the dog to the back bumper, and forgotten about him. He said it was an accident. The Rescue Service
owner, James Woody, says they took Boss to the vet. He had a
shoulder stapled and was badly scraped on his head and hips but is
expected to recover and needs a new home. Woody says the vet bill
exceeds $1,000. |
