In God We Trust
| In 2017, Tennessee passed legislation to add "In God
We Trust" to our licenses plates. If you have gotten new plates since
then, you had the option to get them with or without "In God We Trust".
When you go to get the new Tennessee plate, if you currently have the "In God We Trust" plate, your new plate issued will also include the phrase. If your current plate does not have "In God We Trust", you will be issued a new plate without the phrase. If you're like us, all our plates are older than 2017 so they do not have "In God We Trust" on them. If your current plate does not have "In God We Trust" on it, you can simply ask for the new plate to have the phrase on it. On a side note, why blue tags for Tennessee?
