| If you have been following the local
news lately, you have probably seen the debate on the adoption of the
new (ASFT) Adequate Schools Facilities Tax. There are arguments both for
and against the adoption of the tax. I for one support the new tax, not
for additional revenue but in hopes it will slow the pace of the out of
control development. I would sure prefer a tax on development rather
than any additional increases in property taxes or any other new taxes.
Recently a staff member of one of our
local papers took me to task for my support of the ASFT. Forget the fact
that the first vote unanimous. For some reason
Mr.
Roy S. Trahan II singled me out for criticism.
