Hyde Suit Settled

Back in May, Blount County resident, Mitchell Hyde, filed a lawsuit against Loudon County. Mr. Hyde had to meet certain requirements to receive the special exception. Most importantly, he was required to tie his slaughterhouse operation to the public sewer system in front of his business. Mr. Hyde had not yet met the public sewer hook up requirement for his business at the time he was denied the special exception.

Last week, the county received word from the county attorney that Hyde has now complied with all county regulations to operate a commercial slaughterhouse and that the lawsuit had been dismissed.

It's unfortunate that the county has to use the courts to force some to comply with county regulations.
