Hyde Reply

Back in May, Blount County resident Mitchell Hyde, filed a lawsuit against the Loudon County Board Of Zoning Appeals for refusing to grant his a special exception to operate a commercial slaughterhouse. One of the stipulation to be permitted to operate was that Mr. Hyde would have to connect his slaughter house operations to the public sewer in front of his business. Hyde had not complied with that requirement at the time he was denied. He was pumping his slaughter waste to a truck then spreading the waste on the ground at another location. This is not allowed with a commercial slaughterhouse operation.

Below are links to the letter sent to Hyde and his lawyer informing him that he is now in violation of county zoning policies and subject to a $50 per day fine. Also a link to the legal response to Hyde's lawsuit.
