Homeless man jailed for marijuana, meth

A homeless man is facing various drug charges after law enforcement found him in possession of several grams of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mark Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop April 13 on Highway 70 after he saw a black Toyota Camry going 59 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Rodriguez met the driver, Travis Brent Smith, 41, who said his license was revoked. While speaking with Smith, Rodriguez could smell a “strong odor” of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Smith told the deputy there was marijuana inside the car.

Smith was charged with manufacture, sell, delivery or resale of a Schedule VI substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, driving on a revoked/suspended license and driving while in possession of meth and held on $29,000 bond.

Man caught with meth

After seeing a maroon Chevrolet turn left Thursday onto Highway 72 without proper registration lights, Loudon Police Officer Christopher Law stopped Scott Allen Snow, 37, Friendsville.

Snow was arrested after his license came back revoked for failure to file. While searching inside the vehicle for towing purposes, Law saw a homemade tourniquet inside a computer case.

“After further investigation, I located 15 grams of a white crystal-like substance inside a McDonald’s bag,” Law wrote in a report.
Snow was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, display of registration plate and driving on a revoked/suspended license and held without bond.
