HENDERSON,
JOE E. - age 63 of Loudon, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008.
Mr. Henderson was a member and Elder of Loudon Cumberland
Presbyterian Church. He was a 32nd degree Shriner and Scottish Rite
Mason and a member of Loudon Masonic Lodge 204 F & AM as well as a
veteran of the US Army and the 278th Tennessee Army National Guard,
Lenoir City Unit. He was retired from TVA at Watts Bar in 2003 but
he never slowed down. He was a "not so silent partner" with his son
Charles at the Line-X of E. TN in Lenoir City where he spent many
hours helping out. In addition, Mr. Henderson was an auctioneer and
real estate broker with Howell Real Estate and a Kentucky Colonel,
an honorary title bestowed on auctioneers. He enjoyed conducting
charity auctions for many worthy causes. Attending one of those
events was truly enjoyable as he used his wit and charm to entertain
the crowd. In addition, he was a member of the Loudon County
Regional Planning Commission, the Operating Engineers Local 917 in
Knoxville, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Piney Ruritan
Club. A kind man with a gentle nature who will be sorely missed by
so many. Preceded in death by parents, Moultrie "Mote" and Ethel
Estes Henderson. Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Betty
Eldridge Henderson; son, Charles Henderson, Loudon; daughter and son
in-law, Lara Beth and Gary Lehman, Nashville; sister and brother
in-law, Elizabeth and Bob Yates, Loudon; special pet, "Buddy" the
dog. The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 PM Tuesday at McGill
Karnes Funeral Home with Masonic Rites to follow at 7:30 PM
conducted by the members of Masonic Lodge 204 F&AM. Contributions in
memory of Mr. Henderson may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church, P.O. Box 373 Loudon, TN 37774. The family will also receive
friends 4-7 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Loudon with
services to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Nick Coker, Pastor Steve Weaver
and Charles Henderson officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Thursday in
Corinth Cemetery with full military honors provided by Loudon County
