"45"
| On March 17th, 1979, 7:00 pm, we walked down the
aisle at the previous First Baptist Church location on A Street in
Lenoir City, she 18, me 19. I'm sure we thought we knew everything at
the time. Two kids, four grandkids and 45 years of life later, we're still going strong, or at least going anyway. As you can see, the dress still fits and as far as I'm
concerned, she's still looks like the 18 year old from 1979. Yes, the
dress has yellowed a bit, the kids are grown and gone and a lot of
adventures have passed, but I love her 45 times more now than then. I
Happy Anniversary Foot note: Sarah's mother, Elizabeth Holland, home economic teacher for many, many years, hand made the dress. She hand sewed 1500 individual pearls on the dress. Apparently the veil didn't survive. |
