Boy, time has flown by. Looking back over all these years, it's just hard to believe we're where we are today. It's been a mighty good journey. We would never have had any anniversaries if it hadn't been for that first date. It's a fun story so I'll tell it one more time. 

Back in the early 1976, at the urging of my aunt Evelyn Rainwater who was Sarah's Sunday School teacher, I asked Sarah out for the very first time. Really didn't see any future in it, but it was a date. She was even in the marching band. Went to supper then to a movie, The Bad News Bears. Had her back home before 10:00 pm because, I had other important business in town, cruising Broadway in my hot rod.

When I took her home, as a gentleman, I walked her to the door and just before the kiss goodnight she looked me square in the eye, dead serious and without hesitation, she said ,we're going to get married someday. Caught a little off guard by her prediction, I said is that right? In my mind I'm thinking, that's not gonna happen. I guess the rest is history.

I'm sure glad she knew what was to come.

Foot Note: This anniversary falls on the same night as the county commission workshop. Looks like our trip this year will be to commission meeting and a stop at Carl's for a hamburger steak platter.
