A trailer in Greenback was damaged in a fire Friday night, but firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it destroyed the structure.

Greenback Volunteer Fire Department personnel responded to the fire at 5107 Cedar Church Lane at 8:53 p.m., said Greenback Fire Chief Ronnie Lett.

The first firefighter was on scene within six minutes, Lett said, while the first fire truck arrived about three minutes later. Firefighters had the blaze under control within about 15 minutes, Lett said.

While damage was left to the living room and a bedroom, the structure was left standing.

No one was home and no injuries were reported. Lett said 23 firefighters and eight trucks responded. The Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department sent six firefighters and two trucks, Lett said.

The homeowner and resident was identified as Jeffery Williams.
