Greenback Quarry 9

January 12th, M&M Stone Farms LLC, bought the 355 acre Hutton Farm on Old Hwy. 95. This is the property that's at the center of the controversial proposed rock quarry.  M&M Stone Farms, LLC., paid $2,750,000.00 for the property.

For more than a year, Blount County resident, Rodney Murphy, of Murphy Bobcat, has been threatening to buy the property and open a new rock quarry regardless what the City of Greenback or the residents wanted.

The addresses on the deed and the LLC come back to Rodney Murphy owned property in Greenback and Blount County. M&M Stone Farms, LLC was just created on January 8th. The affiant signature is Michael S Malicota.

There are major legal questions as to whether anyone can open a quarry on this property and Loudon County commission has pledged to take any and all legal actions available to prevent a quarry on this property.

Guess we're about to find out what if anything the commission can do to stop this.
