Greenback man dies in ATV crash

GREENBACK - A 46-year-old Loudon County man died after the all terrain vehicle he was riding on a public road went out of control.

Carl A. Davis of Greenback died in the 7:58 p.m. Monday crash, according to a report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Kris Underwood.

Davis was operating a 2001 Yamaha Wolverine on Meadow Road West in Greenback when he lost control of the westbound ATV. The vehicle left the right side of the road, overturned and struck a well house, Underwood wrote.

Davis was not wearing a helmet, according to Underwood's report.
