Greenback man charged with sexual exploitation
of a minor
From Staff Reports Daily Times
Blount County authorities have charged a
23-year-old Greenback man with one count of sexual exploitation
of a minor, following a search warrant on the man's computer,
Sheriff James Berrong said today.
Derrick Brandon Burchfield, 23, of Cedar Church Lane, Greenback,
is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility in lieu of
a $25,000 bond pending a hearing in Blount County General
Sessions Court at 9 a.m. June 18.
Investigators with the HEAT (Hi-Tech Evidence and
Technology) Unit, along with the Harriman Police Department and
the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office — as part of Internet Crimes
Against Children Tennessee Task Force (ICAC) — have been
conducting an investigation on Burchfield for the last few
weeks, officials said.
Tuesday, investigators with all three agencies conducted a
search warrant at Burchfield’s residence and seized his
computer.
The hard drive of the computer revealed several video images of
child pornography.
Burchfield was charged this afternoon.
