GREENBACK, Tenn. (WVLT) -- While many kids are nervous and excited for the new school year, wondering about their teachers and new classmates, their parents may be nervous for a different reason--back to school supplies.

The pastor of Greenback Memorial Baptist Church, Lon Shockley, is trying to help families get their kids the clothes and supplies they need to go back to school prepared and with confidence.

"I remember being that little and a lot of times we couldn't afford those things. If we can help out a family here in Greenback, it's worth it," Shockley said.

The church is hosting a clothing and supplies giveaway this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Kids can also get free haircuts to go along with their new clothes. Greenback Memorial Baptist Church is located at 292 TN-95.

However, Shockley said they still need school supplies and hygiene products. You can drop off donations at the church.
