TO: Candidates

FROM: Susan H. Harrison, Administrator of Elections

Just a few points I want to share with you:

Last day to register to vote is April 4, 2022. The form must be in our hands or postmarked on that date.

Last day to request an absentee ballot is April 26, 2022. If you know someone needing to vote this way, please tell them to go ahead now and contact the office.

General information sessions: I will be glad to have a session with any or all candidates and explain the voting machine process and tabulation process. It would be good for you to know the facts and not he rumors.  There is more security than many even begin to imagine. I will have one on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. & 6:30 p.m., if anyone wants to attend. Please let me know if you will be attending. If you cannot make this session and you are interested, we will work another time out.

Early Voting: We will be closed on Good Friday, April 15, 2022. Otherwise, we will be open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Roane State location and the Loudon Election Commission office locations.

Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-12 Noon.   We will only be in Tellico Village on April 19-21, 2022. The hours will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m.… We will be voting at the Chota Rec Center. If you have someone going with you to campaign there, you might need to carpool. Parking is limited and if the voters have nowhere to park, they will leave. This is pretty much the case anywhere you are campaigning. Parking for the voters is very important.

100 ‘ boundaries are in place for a reason. If you cross the boundaries, rest assured I will get a phone call.  This also applies to those helping you. The restrictions include buttons, hats, shirts, etc...  If any of you go into use the restroom, please cover up your shirts and remove your hats. If you the candidate goes in , you must go straight to the restroom and back out of the building.

Please do not go into the building to ask how many has voted. You may call the office and we can provide you that information. If you want on the nightly email list of how many and who has voted, please email me with that request @ harrisons@loudoncounty-tn.gov.

Paid for by:  Remember you are required to have “paid for by….” on your signs, billboards, mailers, and other items.

Financial reports: Money is money regardless of if it is your money or your friend’s money.  You must report all money you have taken or spent. If you signed the report saying you would not be spending or taking in over $1,000 and you have or will be, now is the time to be filing an appointment of treasurer.
