From Representative Lowell Russell

Dear Representative Russell,

Thank you for your continued interest in the roadway conditions of I-75 in Loudon County.

As you know, the Department has already performed patching work on I-75 in London County. Additionally, the upcoming paving project on I-75 between the bridge over Hotchkiss Valley Road to Interstate 40 will begin, weather permitting, on or about April 18, 2021 and will be a nighttime project. This project will include resurfacing in both directions (northbound and southbound) between mile markers 79 and 84. The contractor will begin with the bridge reconstruction work, and will then begin milling and paving from the I-40 split to the overpass of Hotchkiss Valley Road. This project will not extend all the way down to the Sugar Limb Road exit at mile marker 76, but TDOT Maintenance forces will be putting a lane closure in place (southbound fast lane near Exit 76) within the next week to patch the areas that will not be included in the paving project.

If you have any further questions about the project, please contact Steve Borden, PE, Director/Chief Engineer TDOT Region 1 at Steve.Borden@tn.gov .

Sincerely,

Clay Bright

Commissioner
