Free TV Update
A couple of weeks or so ago, I brought you the story
of how Charter Cable had discontinued the practice of providing free
cable TV for all local government facilities. The concern was if it
weren't free who would pay for it. The tax payers?
Well, I'm happy to report that at least one group of county officials are paying their own bill. The Trustee, Register, Court Clerk, and Assessor are tied together under one account, and they tell me they have been paying their cable bill themselves for more than a year now. There has been some discussion amongst these officials, however, about canceling the subscription altogether, as the service is little used except for the occasional news and weather. So you see, there is some good news and some good elected officials out there and I'm happy to report it. |
