First Candidate
| With Carrie McKelvey's announcement that she will not
be seeking re-election to the County Clerk seat, the first candidate has
announced her candidacy. Amy Langley has announced her intent to run for that office. Ms. Langley currently works for the Loudon County finance department. Ms. Langley stated on her Facebook page that she has worked for the county for more than seventeen years. Currently, Ms. Langley lives just across the county line in Roane County. Ms. Langley intends to move back into Loudon County. State law allows for a candidate from another county to seek office as long as they become a resident before being elected in the general election. The county primary election will be in May, 2022. |
