Father Shoots Son

knoxnews.com LENOIR CITY - The Loudon County Sheriff's Department today is investigating a shooting involving a father and son that took place Thursday night in Lenoir City.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Todd Aaron Edwards, 37, sitting in a grassy area at the residence. He had at least one gunshot wound to the chest, according to a press release issued by the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies later learned that Aaron Edwards had called his father, Pierce Edwards, and his father's wife, threatening to kill them if he could get into their residence, according to the sheriff's office.

Aaron Edwards showed up at the residence 10 minutes later, parking directly in front of the entrance, according to the press release. He then tried to kick the door down, authorities said. Investigators found evidence that the door had been kicked.

Sheriff Tim Guider said that Pierce Edwards then fired two shots through the front door of the residence, hitting his son. Guider said Pierce Edwards had been fearful of his son prior to the Thursday incident. He and his wife stayed in a hotel once after being threatened by Aaron Edwards, authorities said.

No charges have been filed.
