Farragut Bleed

We've discussed several times that things that happen in Farragut can bleed over on Loudon County. Here's a perfect example.

A developer is proposing a condo development on Watt Road in Farragut/Knox County. The development would have 40 condos and several commercial businesses on the 9.2 acre lot. Of course, what Farragut permits in their city is up to them. The problem for Loudon County is, the development conceptual plan shows an entrance/exit onto Harrison Lane which is in Loudon County. The section of Harrison Lane at the proposed development is less than fifteen feet, not hardly wide enough for two cars to pass.

In December, I met with the Farragut Planner and told him that commissioner Duff and myself will oppose any connection to Harrison Lane from the development. I also made contact with the engineer for the project and told him the same thing. The engineer said he didn't think eliminating the entrance/exit onto Harrison Lane from the project would be a problem as long as Farragut planning agreed.

The first step in the development is a request for the property to be rezoned to allow the development. If the rezone is granted, then the developer will have to submit plats to the Farragut Planning Commission for consideration.

We'll be watching the progress of this development. Hopefully there will be no problems and the entrance/exit onto Harrison Lane will not be a part of the development. The folks that live in that area want no more traffic on that little road.
