E.W. Jenkins Fire
| A longtime landmark went up in flames. The E. W.
Jenkins Hardware building on Kingston Street caught fire Thursday night
around 7:00 pm. The building was destroyed. No word on what may have
caused the fire.
Though the hardware had been closed for many years, it operated for as many years as most of us can remember. Crews were on site Saturday beginning the clean up process.
