Ethics Complaint 3

Back in July, Loudon County resident, Michelle Fritz, filed an ethics complaint against the chairman of the solid waste commission, Adam Waller. In her complaint, Ms. Fritz took issue with the boards actions, memberships of the board and about anything else she could think of. Problem is, none of her complaints constituted any form of an ethics violation.

Unfortunately, when an ethics complaint is filed, the county has to take it seriously and follow all the required steps necessary to deal with the complaint.

Included in Ms. Fritz ethics complaint was a request for county attorney, Bob Bowman, to recuse himself from advising the ethics committee. Bowman complied with the request. So the county had to hire outside council to handle the matter.

Ultimately, Ms. Fritz's frivolous complaint was dismissed by the ethics committee, having no merit.

Total cost to the tax payers for Ms. Fritz's frivolous complaint was $8,196.00.

Thank you Ms. Fritz.
