Driving competition benefits United Way

The East Tennessee Region Sports Car Club of America hosted a SOLO event that raised approximately $5,000 to benefit United Way of Loudon County. More than 100 drivers competed in this timed driving skills event, which was held at the Adesa Auction Company in Lenoir City.

Participants included law enforcement with Lenoir City and Loudon Police Departments and the Loudon County Sheriff's personnel, who competed in a special challenge won by Blake Norman from the City of Loudon Police Department. Pilot Corp. provided a race car transport truck for guests to tour and a race car simulator.

The event was created by Dave Yoder and sponsored by Pilot Corp. and Earl Duff Subaru of Harriman, Tenn.

Other class winners included Wayne Henry, John Black, Keith Davenport, Larry Campbell, William Davis, David Henn, Charles Schuiten, Jacob Lackey, Jon Coatney, Mike Burke, Joseph White, Dugg Velliquette, Ted Visscher, Mike Kelly, Richard Miller, Jim Murphy, Marcus Wheeler, Marcus Luttrell, Justin Harbour, John Phillips, Karen Appelbaum, Sean Peterson, David Disney, Trey Davis, Max Appelbaum, John Brown and Robert Carpenter.
