The Monroe County Advocate VONORE-Did angels take the wheel and wreck a Greenback woman Monday?

That's what a wreck victim told investigators Monday. Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy Robbie Lovingood said it was around 6:15 p.m. when he went to a wreck near the intersection of Povo Road and Niles Ferry Road. He found a 2006 silver Dodge Minivan flipped on its top, partially in the roadway.

He found the driver, Jetta L. Boone, 40, Salen Road, Greenback, trying to get help from passing cars. When asked what had happened, Boone said angels had been driving her minivan and she had no idea how it ended up on its top, Lovingood said.

Boone told Lovingood she didn't need medical help and Lovingood said he didn't see any signs of injury. He did allegedly smell alcohol on her said she was unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech and answering questions inappropriately. Lovingood said she was also belligerent, crying, repeating herself and admitted she had been drinking. When asked how much and what, she said two beers and a shot.

Lovingood said she was too unsteady on her feet to perform any field sobriety tests and he took her to jail where she refused to take a Breathalyzer test. Boone is charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law.
