EVENT CENTER - DIRECTOR

The City of Lenoir City seeks to employ an Event Center Director to manage the new Lenoir City Event Center (hereafter referred to as “Center”) opening in Fall 2016. The center will be located on Creekwood Park Boulevard, a new development situated between US Highway 321 and US Highway 70. The center will be approximately 19,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate up to 600 guests for numerous events such as conferences, conventions, weddings, receptions, reunions, etc.

The Lenoir City Event Center Director will report to an advisory board appointed by the Mayor and City Council. Competitive, negotiable salary dependent upon qualifications and excellent benefit package.

The Loudon County Economic Development Agency is an independent organization created by an intergovernmental agreement between Loudon County, City of Loudon and City of Lenoir City, TN. The position serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors and is responsible for developing plans, organizes and implements economic development functions from conception to completion, including business recruitment and retention, site development, grant writing, administrative, professional and technical tasks.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and experience in economic development, urban planning, business, public administration, economics, marketing or finance or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in economic development, community/planning development or redevelopment activities in the public or private sector, transportation planning/project management. Position shall either have obtained or will obtain the following certifications: Certified Economic Developer Accreditation from the International Economic Development Council; certifications from the Tennessee Department of Transportation Local Programs Office.
