Cook Brothers Sue
| Last month, Loudon County commission denied a request
for a rezone with a PUD, Planned Unit Development overlay, for a parcel
of property on Hwy 321 near the Blount County line. The applicant was
Cook Brothers Construction. There was confusion in the vote with a
couple of commissioners stating they misunderstood the motion.
Ultimately, the rezone request failed to gain a majority and failed. Cook Brothers Construction out of Blount County, filed a lawsuit against the county making all kind of claims of misdeeds the commission did. However, the lawsuit fails to mention a lot of issues that went into the rezone request failure. I guess this is what out of town developers do when they don't get their way. Hopefully, whoever represents the county in the lawsuit will do so aggressively. |
