Commissioner Meets Judge
| Last week, Loudon County commissioner Austin Shaver
and his wife Brittany had the rare privilege to meet one of the US
Supreme Court Judges.
Justice Clarence Thomas made the trip to Knoxville this week to speak to the University of Tennessee's law students and take in the football game against Florida.
Thomas took his seat on the U.S. Supreme Court in
1991 as one of the court's youngest justices. Now, he's one of
its longest-serving members.
Austin said, as an attorney knowing the Supreme Court is the highest court in the land, meeting one of the nine justices was a real honor. |
