Lenoir City Council's special called meeting Thursday night to vote on adding the question of changing the position of City Treasurer/Recorder to the February election was canceled. No explanation was given. Just a sign on the door at city hall announcing the cancellation.

The council had been planning to add the question to the ballot in hopes of changing the position to appointed instead of elected. However, according to the election commissioner, the question can not be added to a primary election. Further details as they develop.
