Changing Sides?
6th district commissioner, Wayne Gardin, may be
changing sides. According to election officials, Gardin, who will be up
for reelection next year, has picked up a petition to run for reelection
in the republican primary in May. In November, Gardin had picked up a
petition for reelection to run in the democrat primary.
Gardin currently has three challengers for his commission seat. Loudon County School Board member, Steve Harrleson (R), Christie Kreischer (D) and Bill Campbell (R)(I) who ran against Gardin back in 2006. Before the February deadline, Commissioner Gardin will have to decide if he will run as a democrat or republican. |
